Dear friends,
Since last time, I’ve had the pleasure of attending the Dandelion Collective team retreat at Ayrmer Cove…
…and I’ve just returned from a weekend of embodied Tarot at Hexworthy, Dartmoor where I explored the Judgement card.
Introduction to Crypto & DeFi
Last call for the Introduction to Crypto & DeFi (Decentralised Finance) course I’m running on Thursdays in November, starting this week. 24 people signed up, 6 spaces remaining. Read more
If you can’t make this one, I’ll be repeating the course in December.
Other upcoming events
The Psychedelic Society's Psychedelic Futures series investigates not-for-profit, co-operative and community-led alternatives to the corporatisation of psychedelics.
For our first event on Wed 2nd December I’m delighted to be in conversation with Bennet Zelner, pioneer of the Pollination Approach. Read Bennet's article on the Pollination Approach with my highlights and register for the event
On Wed 9th December, I’m in conversation with Martin Winiecki, leader of Tamera’s Institute for Global Peacework, on Martin's essay Searching for the Anti-Virus: Covid-19 as Quantum Phenomenon. Read it here with my highlights and register for the event
Platform Co-ops Now!
I’ve started studying on the Platform Co-ops Now! course, a 3-month “practical and theoretical online program to learn about and incubate platform co-ops” where I will be seeking to develop the Dandelion web platform as a not-for-profit co-operative alternative to corporate ticketing platforms such as Eventbrite.
The course is a collaboration between the Institute for the Cooperative Digital Economy at the New School (NY, USA) and Mondragon University (a Basque not-for-profit co-operative university, part of Mondragon, one of the largest worker co-ops in the world with 80,000+ workers). Read more
SEEDS
SEEDS is a payment platform and financial ecosystem to empower humanity and heal our planet (check out the alpha constitution for more).
Every lunar cycle, the SEEDS community vote on grant proposals from organisations seeking to further the Regenerative Renaissance. Dandelion’s SEEDS Alliance proposal was recently passed and funded with 1.5m Seeds (about $20k at current prices).
I am now also a member of the Hypha DAO (or DHO, ‘Decentralised Human Organisation’ as it’s known in SEEDS) in a Movement Weaver role, where my current focus is working with Rieki Cordon and Phoebe Tickell to launch a 6-week better-than-free course in the Regenerative Renaissance - watch this space for more details on that soon!
Psychedelics, Meditation & Enlightenment podcast
I had the pleasure of speaking to Amir Giles on the new Adventures in Awareness podcast. Listen here
Tao Te Ching
I meditated on chapters 49–64 of the Tao Te Ching. I haven’t yet found the time to select images for these chapters, I promise I will soon! In the meantime, here’s a passage from verse 64:
Begin your task before it becomes a burden
Put things in order before they get out of hand
Remember,
A tree that fills a man’s embrace grows from a seedling
A tower nine stories high starts with one brick
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step
Act and it’s ruined
Grab and it’s gone
People on the verge of success often lose patience
and fail in their undertakings
Be steady from the beginning to the end
and you won’t bring on failure
Knowledgegraph
Since last time, I’ve shared 20 articles to my knowledgegraph. Some highlights:
Orlando Bishop and Charles Eisenstein
Monthly news review videocall for paying subscribers
I run a monthly news review videocall for paying subscribers of this newsletter, where I offer deeper commentary and analysis on content I’ve shared to my knowledgegraph and other items mentioned here.
The next call will take place on Wednesday 11th November, 6pm-7pm UK time, with a link sent to paying subscribers earlier that week, and a recording sent afterwards.
The investment I ask for is $10/month (or $100/year), with the option of a $300/year Founding Member plan if you particularly appreciate my work and would like the option of being featured in this newsletter.
Your support means a lot to me, and will enable me to keep seeking out and connecting quality content in these strange times.
Until next time, with love,
Stephen
